Perhaps, one of the most intellectually and emotionally stimulating forms of music, the genres of Hip hop and Rap music are some of the most expressive in terms of lingual flexibility and poetic license.

Jay ZWithout doubt, one of the most successful rappers ever to be hit with the spotlight, Jay Z (formerly Jay-Z) has sold over 100 million records, stolen 21 Grammy Awards and as of 2014 was estimated to have a net worth of over a half billion dollars by Forbes. His first album was Reasonable Doubt, but he went ahead and published it anyway. EminemThe self-styled Rap-God of the Hip Hop World – Slim Shady’s albums deserve to be in every ipod, MP3 player and mobile device not just because they all get a rise out of you,but because the universality of his music touches a deep part of the human psyche that most of us would love to give in to. The controversy and drama that he faces in real life is reflected in his music and he is possibly the most widely loved rapper in the world right now.

Tupac ShakurI might get a lot of grief for this one here, but Tupac Amaru Shakur (or simply 2Pac) was one of the most iconic rap artists of the 20th century. If Kurt Cobain defined grunge, 2Pac defined Hip Hop. Consistently ranked the number one rapper to ever exist as well as being an iconic figure in Rap history, 2Pac’s career came to an abrupt end when he was killed in a drive by shooting in Las Vegas. Nonetheless, 2Pac will always be remembered.
